Let’s try this again. The village won last time and overall they had a pretty solid game. Adobery figured out a way to break the game for the village, so we’re closing that loophole, but the wolves still biffed it with their final shot last time. Rule changes from last time are highlighted in red.

Game Structure: There will be no night wolf kills. After all, the bar is open at night! Every kill will be done via lynching. The wolves still win if they equal the number of remaining villagers (not including the neutral). The wolves will still get to talk strategy at night. If any villager role claims as a wolf, the wolves will automatically win.

Sam Malone (Villager, Linchpin): Without Sam, everything at the bar falls apart. The patrons must do everything in their power to keep him around. If Sam is lynched, the wolves win. But! Sam is such a thoughtful and observant bartender that he can immediately sniff out any impostors. Sam has been notified who all the wolves are.

Norm Peterson (Villager, Angel): If Sam is gone, Norm will run out of free beer. Therefore, he’ll be trying extra hard to keep him alive. Norm will get a chance each night to protect another player the following day. He will notify the mod at night (including Night 0) about who he’d like to protect. He can protect the same player every day if he wants. After all, if he’s snuffed out Sam but the wolves haven’t, then more power to him. His identity will be revealed upon death. Norm cannot protect against the last wolf’s insta-kill; otherwise, Sam would just role-claim. Norm can also not protect himself.

Harry the Hat (Neutral): While Harry has a soft spot for Sam, this only goes as far as he can profit. And for him to be profit, he needs to con as many people as possible for as long as possible. His job will be to try to keep the game going as long as possible, keeping Sam and the wolves alive. If he can make it until there are only 5 players (including himself) remaining, he will win and be removed from the game. If he is killed, his role will be revealed. If Harry overtly hints at his own role, he will be mod-killed as neither the village nor the wolves have any vested interest in killing Harry.

Gary and his friends (Wolves): There are no differences between the wolves. However, they all have one special power that will prevent Sam from overtly hinting at who he is to the village. At any point when there is only one wolf remaining, that wolf can decide to kill any villager on the spot. This will be done via private e-mail to the mod and the mod will pause the game effective the timestamp of the e-mail from the wolf. The game is over at that point and the mod will announce if the wolves or village won. This is obviously a reckless move and designed only to prevent a role-claim. The wolf can also use it as a last ditch effort if he’s about to be lynched, but he must decide to do so before the majority vote against him is cast. The reason I’m only allowing this with one wolf left is so that the the first two wolves don’t get a chance for a “free shot” at Sam as they’re about to die. If Sam were to make his identity obvious, it will be the responsibility of the final wolf to catch this and kill him when the time comes.

2. the amount by which destruction or the capacity for destruction exceeds what is necessary.

Even if the town had had the time and stomach for it, they likely wouldn’t have been able to put this puzzle together. The bloody pieces were strewn across the town square. It was only once everyone had gathered and they noted her absence that they knew who the pieces belonged to.

It was no surprise Daneekas Ghost was having trouble sleeping tonight. After a five hour rotation of turning off the light, turning on the light to read for awhile, he finally gave up two books into it.

He started a pot of coffee then opened up his closet and retrieved his suit so he could iron it one last time. He grabbed a lint roller that was down to a scant few sheets and eyed his suit for any stragglers but he could fine none. Today was his day, and he was going to marry Annette in this suit.

Starting singups for the next game after werewolf. It’s a new play by email game I came up with (maybe it exists already, I don’t know). Think of it as musical chairs crossed with Scattergories…kind of.

Each day you will be given a category. You provide an answer that fits that category. However, you do not want your answer to match anyone else’s answer. Everyone who provided the most popular answer will receive a strike. Three strikes and you are out.

The game will continue until there is only one person left. As the number of participants decrease, the broadness of the categories will decrease to match.

Sign up in the comments below or email me if you want to play.

“Who should we kill tonight,” says one wolf to the other, “we need to think this out very carefully.”

“Yes, our success in this game may hinge on this decision,” says the other.

“Game? You think this is a GAME!?” says the first wolf incredulously.

“No, no, of course not! I meant our success against our game…prey…y’know?” says the other wolf with a hint of nervousness.

“Hmmm…”

“I think I know our target,” the other wolf cuts in quickly, “Let’s kill 8BSEMT8.”

“Well, I am tired of trying to pronounce his name. It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.”

“I know, right? I mean it’s just so random. My auto-generated wi-fi password is easier to remember. “

The first werewolf roars with laughter at that. “Yes, yes. That settles it. I think we’ve made a sound decision. Let’s head out.”

The Nosy Neighbor has trouble sleeping tonight. He knows he’s forgotten something several things, but he’s not sure what. He’s still tossing and turning when he hears his (unlocked) door creak open. He turns on the light and sees two werewolves standing there.

The sun slowly peeked up over the mountains. The birds took to chirping, the squirrels took to chattering, the brook took to babbling. This was about as boisterous as things got in this neck of the woods. For this little town, if you want to call it that, was home to many a recluse. Some by choice, others by necessity, but they all preferred to keep to themselves and conversation rarely entailed more than a nod of the head or a wave of the hand.

So it’s not hard to imagine that the residents really didn’t know each other very well at all, and that was just fine by them. Though they were about to not be so fine with it.
